Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international relief organization. Their mission is to provide local partners around the world with shoeboxes filled with small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies as a means of reaching out to children in their own communities with the Good News of Jesus Christ. They ship these simple gifts outside the United States to children affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine, and disease; and to children living on Native American reservations in the U.S.

Operation Christmas Child is not just a seasonal ministry at Dawsey! While we will accept any of the items at anytime during the year, as a church family we focus on this collection during October, November, and December.  Our goal for this year: 120 boxes!

Dawsey also regularly supports other local places including Heritage Home of Florence, McLeod Hospice, McLeod Guest House and The Manor, and most recently Care House of the Pee Dee. On Sundays we have a separate collection we called Coins for Christ,  and we use this money to help fund our mission projects.
